We don’t hug trees BUT love the music they make

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

‘German artist Bartholomäus Traubeck recently debuted a record-player he developed which is capable of digitally reading tree-slices and translating them into surprisingly moving piano music. Tree-rings, of course, considered to be annual records of a tree’s growth rate — which in turn offer clues to the hardships and fruitful periods experienced over the life of the tree.’ Read more on Treehugger

We don’t hug trees. We make covetable luxuries changing the world with every stitch & print we make. This is why until April 2012 we are donating 15% of profits of the sales of this scarf to purchase Rainforest Certificates at ‘Forests of the World” | Verdens Skove, a danish environmental agency. Read more about our TROPICAL BLIZZARD campaign on our blog www.choolips.com

tropicalblushwebOur Tropical Blush & Rainy Skies Fish Scale scarves are stirring up a cocktail of a blizzard in Skandinavia & Middle America.

Verdens Skove “Forests of the World”, a Danish environmental organisation, mobilised more than 200,000 Danes in the 80’s & 90’s running major campaigns preserving Rainforest in Middle & South America. Millions were raised to preserve major areas of precious Rainforest securing vast habitat to this present day.

This year Verdens Skove re-launched its campaign with a focus on Nicaragua and a broader vision of preserving the lives of indigenous people inhabiting the forests, the biodiversity of the territory and providing FSC certification for the forests wood.

The way it’s done

Rainforest certificates are purchased securing the preservation of hectars of forests & indigenous cultures.
